The festive spirit was in full-swing in Daventry Town Centre last Saturday (16thNovember), with the success of our Christmas Market event. From 4pm to 8pmthe High Street was lined with a variety of stalls selling unique gifts and crafts, plus festive food and drink venders to suit all culinary tastes.
Organised by Daventry Town Council, the market coincided with the switch on of the town’s new Christmas lights, with musical accompaniment from the Rock Choir singing some festive classics to get everyone in the Christmas mood.
Mayor of Daventry Cllr Mike Arnold said, “We were overwhelmed with the turnout at the event and it was great to see the community celebrating the town together. With the weather on our side it made for a lovely winter night”
As part of this event a selection of Daventry’s favourite shops stayed open until 8pm for late night shopping giving residents extra opportunity to snap up Christmas Presents for loved ones.
Additionally, the event was the start date of the Festive Treasure Trail for children to enter to be in with the chance of winningsome amazing prizes. In partnership with Discover Daventry the Festive Trail invites local children to find the hidden advent symbols dotted in various shops within the town. All associated shops have the trail check lists required so just ask inside for more details. It’s free entry and runs until the 8th December. Happy trailing!
