Today has been an amazing day thanks to The Blades aerobatic display team & the Royal Air Force benevolent Fund.
Both Karen Maximino & Ant Rogers were invited along on behalf of Daventry Radio to an event organised by The Blades to promote awareness of the Royal Air Force benevolent Fund in Northamptonshire.
The work the Benevolent Fund do is amazing and especially close to the hearts of 2 members of The Blades team, Andy Evans & Mike Ling. Both pilots will be eternally thankful for the way the Fund have supported them personally.
The message from the day was that the RAF Benevolent Fund are there for both existing & ex members of The Royal Air Force & their families. Whether it be emotional, financial or physical support needed, they are there for every eventuality.
If you or anyone you know, be it family of friends may benefit from the support of the fund, please take a look at their website www.rafbf.org
You’ll also very soon be able to listen to the fantastic interview with both Andy & Mike – 2 inspirational guys, as are the rest of the team at Sywell (not forgetting Hannah & her team too, thank you Hannah) – Andy was one of the original members of The Blades who formed back in 2006 & is to this day one of the worlds most experienced Extra 300 pilots (these are the aircraft currently used by the team).
Mike, the newest member of the team joined earlier this year after a phenomenal career with the RAF, which saw him become the longest ever serving member of the iconic Red Arrows. Mike was also rewarded an MBE in 2017 for his service to the forces
