Five local businesses have come together to celebrate their first business birthday, and are inviting you.  On Sunday 15thSeptember Anna, Laura, Carmel, Emma and Jellan are all downing their tools to honour their achievements, of how far their businesses have come in the past year. The free public event will be taking place at Long Furlong Farm in Daventry from 12pm until 3pm.

The event is set to be a fantastic day for all the family with entertainment, activities, a variety of food and drink, and not to forget the picturesque location. Carmel and her husband Ali set up Long Furlong Farm as a wedding and event venue for their own wedding in July 2018.

Co-Founder Carmel Haigh says, “Hidden within the heart of Northamptonshire countryside Long Furlong Farm offers plenty of stunning open spaces, the barn has a very rustic feel and allows couples to be unique, creative and celebrate their special day in a way that is personal to them.”

Creating a business requires sacrifice, commitment and a lot of drive, photographer Emma Drew-Batty says, “I dreamt of having my own photography business for a long time and decided last October to make it happen. With many late nights and a lot of hard work during evenings and weekends I’ve built an independent business. The first year has taught me to trust my instincts and go for it”.

Bridal boutique owner Anna Wood describes her first year running Anna Wood Bridal as a whirlwind. The Long Buckbyboutique owner says: “We have been constantly evolving and developing and I hope that we will continue doing so. Running your own business is full of ups and downs and challenges however that’s what makes it interesting! It’s’ great to work alongside and collaborate with so many fantastic businesses within Northamptonshire. We look forward to what the next year brings.”

No event would be complete without a birthday cake; The Greenhouse Cakerie founder Laura Forskitt is on hand to prepare a sweet table to please any sweet treat love. Laura reflects on her past year: “I couldn’t be more grateful to be approaching my first business birthday with such a great twelve months behind me. I honestly couldn’t have wished for a better start. I’ve enjoyed meeting so many beautiful couples and being part of their special day. Having also met some wonderful fellow suppliers along the way, it really is a pleasure to be involved in the wedding industry”.

Northamptonshire having been the location of these ladies’success Jellan Moran owner of NoahBellaPR looks at what the county has enabled for her business: “There is so much talent in Northamptonshire. Having met these four ladies and many other small businesses it has opened so many opportunities for NoahBella. It’s really refreshing being based somewhere that businesses can come together to help one another succeed.”
