Homes Flooded & A Special Thanks to Firefighters

Daventry News -

As a result of the heavy rainfall brought about by Storm Dennis, a number of homes in Woodford Halse were affected by flooding in the early hours of this morning.

The flooding is a repeat of similar flooding that occurred in 2012 when a drainage ditch was overwhelmed.

Speaking to Exclusively to Daventry Radio, Lisa Gregory said ‘The houses that we live in flooded in 2012, it was found to be because of a drainage ditch out the back ever since last weekend the ditch has become very full again, we phoned the housing, highways etc to try and clear it (they did try their best)’.

At 5 this morning it was OK then within an hour the water had shot up and got very close to coming in our house. Unfortunately 2 of our neighbours houses got flooded. We called the fire brigade who came out very quickly but Rory had been taken to my mother in laws to be safe in case the water came into our house.’

Thank you!

On returning home, Lisa’s son Rory wanted to thank the firefighters and did so via the below video that was posted to Twitter.
