An extra level of protection for the towns party-goers was on show last night in the town.
Coinciding with the nationwide Operation Sceptre, Daventry Police deployed a Knife Arch to Chasers Bar and Club.
A number of the towns venues appear to be very supportive of this deployment, including Gerry McGeachey of Chasers although it is not yet known if the Knife Arch is a permenent addition or if there is a single unit that will be rotated through a number of venues.
Replying to Daventry Radio on Twitter, Sgt. Dobbs said; ‘These were funded by @NorthantsOPFCC for Op Sceptre. Intention is to continue use to complement other
policing: safer schools, Night Time Economy, events etc. Feedback last
night was good; police colleagues enjoyed the engagement and rapport.
Well received & hats off to Chasers’.
