The Sweet Bee has received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Daventry.
The Sweet Bee is a new venture set up by the Northgate School Arts College. It is an old-fashioned sweet shop located in Kingsthorpe which offers work-related learning opportunities to young adults between 19-25 with special educational needs.
To mark the donation, several members of the Amazon Daventry team made a visit to The Sweet Bee to meet the staff and learn more about what they do.
Amazon Daventry Site Leader, Gareth Davies, said:
“On behalf of the Amazon team in Daventry I would like to say a big thank you to staff from The Sweet Bee for inviting the team to learn more about the initiative and try some delicious sweets. We’re pleased to provide this donation to support such an important organisation.”
Trudi Daurie from The Sweet Bee added:
“It’s fantastic to receive this support from a business like Amazon. Like many charities, we rely on the support of our community to help those in need and I’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to the Amazon team in Daventry for this generous donation.”
The donation forms part of the “Amazon In The Community” programme whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
