- Daventry Area Crime - Operation Sceptre in Daventry
As part of the Nationwide Operation Spectre, Daventry Police has made available an Amnesty Box at the front desk of the Police Station.
Any knives surrendered between 10AM on the 11th and 4PM on the 16th March will be accepted with no questions asked.

What is Operation Sceptre?
Operation Sceptre was launched in July 2015 by the Met Police with the aim of reducing knife crime and the number families affected by knife crime across the whole of London.
The launch was designed to coincide with new legislation that means that those convicted of carrying a knife for the second time will face a mandatory custodial sentence.
Operation Sceptre seeks to target not only those who carry and use knives, but also the supply, access and importation of weapons.
Police forces nationwide, including Northamptonshire will be using surrender bins, stop and search and weapons sweeps to crackdown on knife crime.
