- Daventry News - Watford Village Defibrillator Unveiled
Watford Villagers can sleep that little bit easier tonight knowing that they now have access to a defibrillator.
The unit is housed in a heated defibrillator cabinet that has been mounted to the front wall of the village hall.
The cabinet has a key code lock, the combination for which is available when you call the telephone number on the front.
Also known as Automatic Electronic Defibrillators, AEDs require no formal training for their use as step by step instructions are printed on its casing and announced audibly.
No shock can be administered when a heart rhythm is detected or until a button is pressed.
The AED (DEA in French) has been supplied by the Parish Council with the help of Linda Ariss and her money raising skills.
